Dear students,

ICN Business School (France), Kozminski University (Poland), Centrum PUCP (Peru), HEC Liege (Belgium) and National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan) are delighted to offer you to participate in online language tandems!

What is a tandem?

It’s an extra-curricular language exchange enabling you to meet a student from a different country and university, practice another language with a native speaker, and learn more about their culture. Tandems are usually a group of 2 students (or up to 4 students) from different countries, meeting regularly online to talk in their native languages. Traditionally, language tandems are structured as a conversation in two halves: one half is in your target language, to give you speaking practice and for your partner to teach you a few things, and the other half is in your native language, to give your partner a chance to practice and learn.

Why participating in a tandem?

• You can practice languages whenever you want and with native speakers.
• You can learn languages that are not taught at your university.
• You can adapt your learning experience to your own needs and interests.
• You get to meet international students and discuss about their way of life in a different part of the world.
• Learning through tandems is dynamic, flexible and fun!
• You can increase your international network. 
• Time and geographical location are not a constraint.

 How does it work?

1. First, tell us a bit about yourself: in the questionnaire below, please indicate the languages you want to teach, the languages you want to learn, and share your contact details by 14 November.
2. In mid-November, this information will be shared with the other students wishing to participate in language tandems from the 5 schools mentioned above.
3. You will then be able to contact the students participating in the language tandems based on their language skills and interests, using the contact details they have indicated. Once the first contact is made, you are free to exchange emails, chat or call using the platform of your convenience from mid-November 2022 until June 2023. Feel free to talk about your hobbies, studies, culture, habits…
