Since the first semester of the 2013 academic year, College of Management, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) has been offering entrepreneurship-related courses, in collaboration with the Transfer and Business Incubation center, NCKU, and/or College of Bioscience and Biotechnology. The purpose of these courses is to nurture a startup team and evolve entrepreneurial dreamers into entrepreneurial masters. Through a series of sophisticated entrepreneurial executions, these courses aim to help a startup team transform knowledge successfully into products, making incubation of a new venture come true.

College of Management has designed two entrepreneurship courses in the EMBA and AMBA programs. They are as follows.

1. Foundations and Actions in Entrepreneurship

The course covers basic entrepreneurial knowledge, entrepreneurial processes and management, design thinking, value proposition, business model canvas maps, crowdfunding, market research and marketing research. This course equips students with the concepts and knowledge of the entrepreneurial process and the ability to conduct initial entrepreneurial planning and test market potential to prepare for actual entrepreneurship or internal corporate entrepreneurship.

2. Foundation of Management and Entrepreneurship

This course fosters entrepreneurial teams and plays the role of “business incubator.” It has five major requirements for enrolled participants: participation in action, acquisition of market insights and identification of opportunities, business model development and refinement, validation and pivot, and final pitch. Through a series of entrepreneurial opportunity identification, entrepreneurship training, implementation of lean entrepreneurship projects, and roadshow contests, this course aims to help a startup team transform knowledge successfully into products, making incubation of a new venture come true. The course collaborates with Office for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, NCKU, and the Transfer and Business Incubation center, NCKU, to provide coaching for each team. Each team will have professional coaches who have extensive experience in entrepreneurship to enhance the odds of successful entrepreneurship. In the final presentation, three to five startup teams will be selected by VC and each given a startup fund, and will further be assisted by the industry experts and the fundraising experts to strive for venture capital.
